Background
The council owns a significant area of land in Cannock town centre and following a successful bid for £20m from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund, it is using the opportunity to regenerate and rejuvenate Cannock town centre.
The opportunity
The demolition of a disused multi-storey carpark and redundant retail units is complete, ready for residential and commercial development. An outdated subway and rundown surface car park are also being rejuvenated to provide an attractive gateway to the town, as well as improvements to travel connections throughout the town centre, including new cycle parking and trails.
